A first taste of winter!  We only received a dusting in Tyson, but I understand three inches of snow accumulated on Lynds Hill.  I feel sorry for folks who only visit here for a few days during foliage.  I find this time of golds and yellows to be lovely, too.  The rain, so badly needed, in addition to the wind has caused an avalanche of leaves.  So, time to get out and rake or blow them to a handy location.  Guess I had better finish planting my bulbs!

There was plenty of food for our Annual Meeting at Tyson Church on Sunday.  We again rejoiced at the generosity of folks who contributed to our new organ fund.  We were surprised and pleased to note the many people we were able to assist through our Community Fund.  It is truly amazing for such a tiny congregation.  If we keep shrinking, I wonder how long we can continue.

We had quite a crowd at the Reach Out luncheon on Thursday, a joint effort between Tyson Ladies Aid and Tyson Church.  It provides a wonderful social time & a number of folks came to hear Jim Hasson this time.  Although it is free and open to everyone, donations can be made if you so desire, but they are not necessary.  Both organizations feel it is important to provide a nice gathering place and why not enjoy a good meal and a speaker at the same time!   By the way, thanks to Tyson Ladies Aid for sponsoring me for the CHaD fundraiser.

Churches in New England are struggling with declining participation.  The Bridgewater community has rallied around their church and the pork dinner on Saturday evening was well attended and delicious.  So nice to see Bettyanne and Jack Sailer, as well as Nancy and Jeff Sailer with grandson, Harper.  He has grown since the last time I saw him and he was really enjoying the stair chair!
