Tyson Community Church will conduct its annual Candlelight Service on Friday, December 22, at 5:30 pm.

Tyson Community Church is located at the intersection of Route 100 South and Dublin Road, opposite the Echo Lake Inn. Guests can park in the Inn’s parking lot, which is adjacent to the church.

The evening’s service is child-friendly and community oriented. It will consist of a series of 6 short readings that tell the story of Jesus’ birth, interspersed with familiar Christmas hymns like “O Come All Ye Faithful,” “Away in a Manger,” and “Joy to the World.” The final song, “Silent Night,” will be sung to candles held by all of the participants, with the church lights turned off.

The music will be led by the church’s talented musician and singer, Erik Johansson. The bible passages will be read by the church’s pastor, Terry Bascom. The service will last about 45 minutes, and will be followed by snacks and drinks.
