TRORC is currently starting up the Resilience Initiative for Vermont Empowerment and Recovery (RIVER). This project is a way for us to gather potential flood mitigation ideas, with the goal of developing a list of potential projects that can be funded through the FEMA Hazard Mitigation Grant Program. Plymouth, Bridgewater, and Woodstock are the focus towns in our region for this project.
Though there are five other Regional Planning Commissions working on RIVER in select towns in their communities, including Mount Ascutney Regional Commission in Ludlow. TRORC will be having its first public forum for the project this Saturday, at 10AM at the Bridgewater Town Office. There will be subsequent public meetings, so there will be other opportunities to participate as well. Project ideas can also be submitted on the RIVER website linked above. Please also see the attached flyer for more details on the project and the public forum.
