I understand the Roger & Dorothy Pingree were married on 4/26/52 & celebrated their 61st anniversary when son Roderick & daughter-in-law Katherine took them to dinner at Applebee’s Restaurant in Rutland, then to the show at the Paramount theater, where they enjoyed music from the Tommy Dorsey era. Congratulations!
I just learned that on 4/6, Julia Kowalski competed in the Champlain Valley Open Martial Arts Tournament in Rutland, in the Girls 11-12 Intermediate division. She competed in kata (forms) and kumite (fighting), taking 2nd place in her division for kata and 1st place for fighting. Nice job, Julia!
The new home of the Historical Society will be the front room of the former school building, which has now been fully painted & the floor buffed to a shine! Artifacts will be moved during May & June with a grand opening being planned for July. They are also considering a separate website from the town one they are using now. Stay tuned…..
A couple of birthdays – sorry to say, belated – Wendy Olsen 5/10, Betty Ann Hayward 5/15, & Ruth Bostock 5/16
Hopefully everyone received the message that the meeting & vote regarding funding of the Sheriff had to be postponed. Apparently it could not be voted by Australian ballot, so watch for the warning announcing the new date.
