Returning from TX on Saturday night, it was so nice to be back in lush, green VT!  Tom and I have been on 9 different airplanes in less than 6 months, so you might think we would have this traveling thing down pat.  I do have one tip for you from our latest trip when my carry-on was searched – don’t pack a large zucchini in your bag!

I couldn’t imagine why I was called aside.  The TSA person and I had a good chuckle over the longish, thick item that he could not figure out on the screen!  You may wonder why I was transporting this good-sized organic vegetable with me.  Well, we didn’t get around to cooking it with our meals and it was just too luscious to throw away.  We enjoyed this well-traveled zucchini tonight for dinner!

Needless-to-say, I have very little news this week.  I understand that the Reach Out Luncheon was well-attended last Thursday and many thanks to the staff at the Town Building for all of their help with setup and preparation.  I heard that the food was great and it was nice that everyone was so flexible.

Don’t forget the “Antiques and Treasures” 2 day Tag Sale from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM on 5/27 and 28 at our Community Center.  I am hoping to bring some items over and I know many others are doing so as well.  I am glad we don’t need to lug over those church benches this time.  I believe they are being put to good use now at the Pizza Chef in Woodstock!

Condolences to the family of Noe “Trapper Joe” George Lambert Jr, of Messer Hill who passed away on 5/18.  Our little cemetery has been a busy place lately with a number of farewells taking place there.

Thanks to Cheryl Bishop for assisting the youngsters in church today as they planted flowers in lovely pots to take home.
