Yes, the weather is still a bit cool and unsettled, but the trees have leafed out nicely and everything is clothed in glorious shades of green!  During my bike ride on Saturday, I was surprised to have very little traffic on Rte 100 and across Echo Lake, Camp Plymouth State Park seemed rather quiet, too.  Other creatures were in attendance, however.  Coming up our road I found a chipmunk, sitting partly on the pavement and partly in the grass, as if waiting for me to pass before crossing.  Not too long afterward, a brilliant red cardinal flew across in front of me, then sat in a tree serenading me!

School is drawing to a close soon, but the schedules for the different schools in our area seem to vary.  I believe that graduation at WUHS is Friday, whereas Black River in Ludlow will not be until 6/17.  Congratulations to our graduating seniors from WUHS:  Andrew Buchan-Groff, and Logan Cox, and Erik Weiss and Sage Allen from Black River.  Baccalaureate for BRHS will be held at Tyson Church on Sunday, 6/11 at 2:00 PM, with several pastors taking part – Rev. Donald Harpster from the United Church in Ludlow, Rev Glen Davis from the Village Baptist church in Mt Holly, and myself.

We decided to read something light, so join the Book Club this Thursday at 6:30 to discuss Erma Bombeck’s If Life is a bowl of Cherries, What am I Doing in the Pits.  Happy Birthday wishes go out to Sue Poirier (6/4), Tom Marrone (6/6), Sally Markwell (6/9), Matt Harootunian, Theresa Steward, and me (6/14).

Plans for the annual Plymouth Strawberry Festival seem to be falling into place with all three participating organizations, who each serve the community.  As usual, Emergency Services will handle the BBQ, Tyson Ladies Aid will be serving up the luscious strawberry shortcake, and Tyson Church will be holding the raffle.  The Church Council would like to thank those who have so generously contributed items and gift certificates.  Please know that the proceeds go directly into the Community Outreach fund to meet various needs within our area.  So, plan to come on Wednesday, 6/21 at 5:00 PM to Camp Plymouth State Park on Echo Lake.  There is free admission to the park for the Festival and items will be raffled off at 6:30.  Lots of other activities, plus enjoy entertainment by Adam Boyce and Sue Hunt!
