Construction Update Routes VT-100 and VT – 100A

The Vermont Agency of Transportation (AOT) is using accelerated construction to improve VT-100 in Plymouth and VT-100A, which spans Plymouth and Bridgewater.

DATE: October 22, 2021

VT-100 TRAFFIC IMPACT: The closure of VT-100 between Route 4 and VT-100A is now anticipated to continue until the last week in November due to construction delays. Detour signs and message boards are in place to direct traffic. Please travel with caution. AOT has coordinated with the Department of Parks, Forests, and Recreation regarding the upcoming winter closure of Shrewsbury Road/ Old CCC Road. In light of the ongoing VT-100 closure, this year the road will not be closed on November 1, and will instead remain open so long as weather permits, or until VT-100 is reopened. 


At Culvert 115, the buried bridge was assembled by subcontractor Contech ES.

CONSTRUCTION ACTIVITIES: This week, the contractor has placed forms on top of the sub-footings. Subcontractor Contech ES completed assembly of the buried bridge, subcontractor Odin Steel will begin installing reinforcing steel at the corner areas between wing walls and abutments today and subcontractor VR Concrete will form those areas next week. At bridge 114, subcontractor BlakTop, Inc., paved the roadway yesterday, and plans to install guardrail today. 

LOCATION: VT-100 in Plymouth between VT-100A and Route 4.

PROJECTED COMPLETION: November 2021

VT-100A CONSTRUCTION ACTIVITIES: Over the week, Pike Industries has worked on miscellaneous items to clean up the job site, including shoulder repairs, and after this is completed, remove construction signage. Drop inlets will be cleaned next week.
TRAFFIC IMPACT: At these minor operations there will be alternating lanes of travel. This will occur between 6:00 am until 6:00 pm and travel will be managed by flaggers.


The VT-100A project reached substantial completion last Friday.

REMINDER: During the VT-100 closure (see above), VT-100A is the dedicated detour route. Please plan your travel accordingly.

LOCATION: VT-100A between VT-100 and Route 4, connecting Plymouth and Bridgewater.

PROJECT COMPLETION: October 15, 2021
