Writing this on Friday, after a couple of brisk and windy days! The sun is straining to come through, which will hopefully warm things up. Not as concerned about weather now, just hoping it will be nice for the Plymouth Strawberry Festival. In light of this big event, there will be no Reach Out Luncheon for June, but plan to come see all of us on the 22nd at Camp Plymouth State Park!
There is a special happening at the President Coolidge Historic Site this Sunday, 6/12 at 2:00 PM: Seven Years of Grace: Plymouth’s Achsa Sprague. Author Sara Rath, will be discussing her new historical novel about Achsa Sprague, the mid-19th century spiritualist and social reformer from Plymouth. Following the presentation and book signing (at the Union Christian Church), an official State of Vermont historic marker will be dedicated to this noteworthy lady.
Please note the next Plymouth Historical Society meeting will be on 7/15 at 7:00 PM at the Museum. Everyone is gearing up for the summer activities. Perhaps you can lend a hand, so plan to attend!
The school year is winding down and graduation will be tonight, 6/10. I also noticed that Grace Vosburgh helped the girls Lacrosse team beat U-32 in the semi-final. By the time the next addition of the Standard comes out, we will know the outcome of the finals to be played in Burlington on 6/11!
