Please know that the sixth annual Plymouth Notch Antique Apple Fest on Saturday, October 2, 10:00AM – 4:00PM At 10:00 with the professionally timed annual Coolidge 5K road race begins. Non-runners are invited to participate in the “I Do Not Choose to Run” 1-Mile Walk at 11:00, honoring Coolidge’s famously short statement that he would not seek re-election for president in 1928. To register, contact the Calvin Coolidge Presidential Foundation, https://coolidgefoundation.org/coolidge-5k/ At 1:30 PM Rob Mermin presents “Silents Are Golden: A Celebration of Silent Cinema”. Join the other activities including cider pressing, wagon rides, sheep shearing, cheese sampling, plus self-guided tours at the Plymouth Cheese Factory. Enjoy the goods of Vermont craftspeople, including spinning demonstrations by Fiber Arts in Vermont. Bring a picnic and listen to old-time tunes performed by the Stringfield Springers. Participate in period children’s games organized by the Vermont Historical Society. On 10/3 enjoy the final Grace Coolidge Musicale of the season at 4 PM at the Education Center. Performing will be mezzo-soprano Ellen Norstromand pianist Abigail Charbeneau, performing Ain’t Misbehavin’ and other classic songs of the 1920s. Appearing in period outfits and with props, they will present perennial favorites I’m Just Wild About Harry, I’m Looking Over a Four-Leaf Clover, and a set from the Broadway hit Showboat. |
